Breaking the habit

3 things I am grateful for:

1. For you tube, because it is awesome.

2. For TED talks, because they are awesome.

3. For my hair, because they are awesome.

The gratefulness for today:

Today I am grateful for handling my habits well. I, like everyone, have good and bad habits. While I have been taking the good ones for granted, the bad ones have hurt me very deeply. Only recently have I started to look at them as something not ingrained in me but something that is outside and can be changed. The good ones can be improved on and the bad ones CAN be eliminated.

Although my outer world has changed, my mind still harbors many of its deep rooted patterns. Every now and then, these patterns become strong  and take over. But they are no longer in total control of me. I am FREE! Like the habits were made by repetition, they WILL be broken and new ones made by repetition.

I am ever-pure, untouched, unstained by any of this.
I am love. I am joy. I am bliss.

To be or not to be

1. For the gift of padma sadhna which is an extraordinary mind-body detox practice.

2. For Sachin Tendulkar, who is truly an inspiration.

3. For my new ear phones.

The gratefulness for today:

Today I am grateful for the direction my life is taking. It is finally unwinding and becoming a little less complex than it used to be. I have been at a loss, time and again, about what I want to do in my life. As my understanding of what life means changed, my career choices and decisions changed with it. This has, in the past, led to a lot of agitation and anxiety for me and my family. Now that all this is finally reaching its conclusion, I think I am pretty sure about what this life means to me and what I want from it. This has been quite a journey. I am grateful that all this has happened because if it didn’t I may have settled for something that I did not want or was not meant to pursue. I am grateful for the courage the lord provided me to let go of the things that seem to matter at a particular time but in the long run were only futile. I am grateful for his diligent guidance and care at every step of my life. Very Grateful! 🙂

Learn, learn and learn

3 things I am grateful for:

1. For so many options or better, so much diversity in this world.

2. For the great blessing of never having to suppress any desire for monetary reasons.

3. For all the love that fills this universe.

The gratefulness for today:

Today I am grateful for my learning capability. I recently started teaching a subject (Biology) I have absolutely no idea about. This has opened a totally new dimension for me. I am grateful for this ability which lets me learn at such a fast pace and comprehend everything I read. Its incredible how sharp my intellect has become since I started meditating. This, truly, is a gift and I am eternally grateful. It is this intellect only which has led me to understand the out of sight secrets of life. I believe it’s the reason I am prospering in life.

What is amazing is that in spirituality the ultimate aim is to transcend the intellect and merge with the divine which can be attained either by a sharp intellect or total surrender. I am grateful that both these qualities are growing in me, every single day!

1. For the Art of Living foundation which is transforming so many lives.

2. For my Honda Activa which makes my transport very easy.

3. For the fresh morning air.

The gratefulness for today:

Today I am grateful for my father. He is by far the most amazing person I have known. Yes, we have our differences but time and again he makes me realize that he is willing to walk the distance. He sheds his ego for me and is always ready to accept and support me. He is one of the most advanced parents I know. He has been great in teaching me the basic things about life. He has acted as a villain, a friend, a rule maker, a rule breaker, a teacher, a tyrant and an extremely loving and caring father. His tougher side had been more prominent to me. I often failed to recognize the subtle delicate aspects of him. As I am getting to know him better, my love and respect for him are only growing, day by day.

3 things I am grateful for:

1. For telecommunications, it is sheer magic!

2. For the fan on my ceiling which provides me with the much needed relief.

3. For being born in India, a country full of culture and wisdom.

The gratefulness for today:

I am grateful today for my dedicated application of the ‘It’s alright’ lesson I learned in one of my Advanced Meditation Courses at the Art of Living. My teacher, the super awesome Swami Bramhatej, taught me that the only way to rise above something is to accept it. The moment you say ‘It’s alright’, it’s gone. It bugs you no more. Don’t let anything be a hindrance in your happiness!

I applied this lesson very diligently today. A lot of things went bad but then came the inner voice ‘It’s alright’ and it really became alright. This is something truly WOW! 🙂

Also, I feel my efficiency is increasing day by day and I am very grateful for that.

Speechless

1. For my sister who is one of the most wonderful people on earth.

2. For my awesome personality which leaves a mark on everyone I meet. 🙂

3. For Ayurveda which fixes the little imbalances in the body.

The gratefulness for today:

Today I am grateful for the continuation of the awesome equanimous state of mind without much anxiety, fear or dejection. Actually today was kind of perfect…

…and thus, I am literally out of words. I have no idea what to write.

PS: I had a WOW afternoon nap; cooked some WOW dinner; took some WOW classes and was in a WOW state of mind. Thank you!

steady and joyful

3 things I am grateful for:

1. For the yummy delicious food I get to eat. So many varieties, so many tastes, just WOW!

2. For Yoga vashista, a book of the highest knowledge.

3. For the sun who provides me with all the energy I need.

The gratefulness for today: 

Today I am grateful for the equanimous state I was in throughout the day. It is amazing how my mind is settling down. All the anxiety, cravings and aversions are dissolving. The daily read of Yoga vashista and Ashtavakra Gita discourses are having a very profound effect on me. The happenings, the circumstances are almost same as they were a year ago, but I have undergone a sea of change. I am able to accept my surroundings as they are and work to change them if need be. I am more aware and calm every day. This awareness and acceptance has made me a lot happier. I am very grateful for this life and all the super awesome things I have received.

Another amazing thing today was my first two and a half hour class. I was always amazed at my Vajiram and Ravi teachers as to how they manage such awesome, precise and lengthy classes. I took my first one today and it was extraordinary. I am turning out to be a great teacher. This is something I always wanted. I have in this short span of time formed a bond with my students who truly admire me. And it feels AWESOME! Thank you!

Courage and concentration

3 things I am grateful for:

  1. For electricity which makes my life very comfortable
  2. For audio, be it songs or meditations or lectures. It is just an amazing technology
  3. For my smile which makes me and everyone around me happy

The gratefulness for today:

Today I am grateful for my concentration which has improved drastically since I started meditating. The time just flies away and I am totally engrossed in the job I am doing. This has effectively increase my efficiency and productivity. I am very grateful.

Also, I am very grateful for my courage. I have the courage to take the most difficult decisions required. I feel this is the only reason I have progressed so much in my life. The courage to accept that everything I know about life can in fact all be an illusion has brought me closer to my master. This is a virtue I cherish and have in abundance. Thank you!

Love and equanimity

Meditation: yup, did the long sudarshan kriya at our local Art of Living center. (there’s nothing like it!)

3 things I am grateful for:

1. For the bliss I experience when I meditate.

2. For the tree who gave up its life so I can write.

3. For the game of cricket.

The gratefulness for today:

Today, I am grateful for the equanimity I experienced throughout the day. There was no sign of any stress or anxiety. My day started off great and is about to end great. Little things here and there did went wrong but I was not moved. Its amazing what being in FLOW can do to you. Just accepting the circumstances with both hands gives you the freedom to  be unaffected by them.

Also, I am grateful for my mother who loves me very very dearly. For some time now, I have been noticing small incidents and gestures, every now and then, which make me realize how loved I am. No love in the world is as selfless and unconditional as her’s.

I am grateful for all the love and joy that surrounds me! very Grateful! 🙂

3 things I am grateful for:

1. For all the money that comes in my life and make me more and more comfortable.

2. For my fingers. They make all my work so efficient and simple.

3. For the oxygen I breath, all day long.

The gratefulness for today:

Today, I am grateful for the feeling of being taken care of. My morning was not good but as the day progressed I realized that no matter what happen the almighty is tending to me. I expected today to be a disaster but instead it has been one of the most beautiful days in recent past. After my kriya I just left all hope and started thinking of today as a buffer between the more important yesterday and tomorrow. As I was letting go, my day started readjusting itself and I was in an awesome mood throughout the day.

Also, I think my sense of humor today was just exquisite. Both my classes were hilarious. All this is magical for me. I am very grateful for all the joy and blessings that are flowing into my life.

Its only when I forget that the master is watching over me that I feel depressed. But today I know, I am taken care of!!
